I've been meaning to post about this for ages and I keep forgetting...
I am having my first official Barnes & Noble booksigning this coming Saturday! If you live anywhere near the Sioux City, Iowa area, I beseech you to come (don't make me beg). Booksignings are scary enough, but downright terrifying when it means I'll be on display at the mall entrance to a major bookstore. If my author friends are right, I'll get lots of strange looks and few book sales. Nothing like being humbled. ;)
Anyway, the booksigning is this Saturday (August 22) from 1-3 pm at the Southern Hills Mall Barnes & Noble in Sioux City. I'd love to see a friendly face or two. Or twenty.
Does Minneapolis = close enough? ;)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could make it! It's been a while since I've been at a book signing, and I've never been at one of an author I am familiar with.
I wish you the best of luck! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun!
No one ever comes to Cali anymore!!! :(
ReplyDeleteWish you both could come! Or that I could come to you. I happen to love both of your locations... And, consequently, they both figure into my next book. Nicollet Ave. for Weronika, and San Luis Obispo for Bina. ;) Cool coincidence!
ReplyDeleteAw, too bad you aren't coming around South Carolina, or even N.C.! I would love to go to one of your booksignings. :) Unfortunately, classes have started back for me. :( But good luck! I hope swarms of fans come out to see you!

I'm very tempted! I wish I could be there, Nicole!
ReplyDeleteWe need you to come to Ohio!!

I know book tours are sort of dead (unless you're J.K. Rowling or Stephanie Meyer) but they sound so fun and glamorous to me! After a day of housecleaning, laundry, and failed attempts at potty-training, a little glamour sounds like heaven... ;) I happen to be pony-tailed and in sweats right now (watching The Daily Show as I continue to tinker away at edits). Not exactly book tour worthy. And yet, nice all the same...
ReplyDeleteOk so I have a great idea! Since you can't come to us...how about all of us deprived people make it into your books? You said you were going to San Luis Obispo in your next book...I think Bina makes a wonderful name for a waitress?!?!? ha ha. No? Ok...well I will hold out for your combo Disneyland/book signing trip to Cali then. Was worth the shot, right?? :)
ReplyDeleteIf you ever decide to do a book tour, make sure you visit New England. :D

Bina, I think that's a great idea! Didn't Karen Kingsbury do that once...? Our non-profit foundation is on the brink of a big fundraising campaign--maybe I could auction off a spot in my next book! Hmmm... food for thought.
ReplyDeleteWendy, I've never been to the East Coast. But it is a dream destination... Someday. :)
