E-Books vs. The Real Deal

Hi, all. I'm conducting a little online survey. My interest is both personal and professional... I have an idea rolling around in my head that I'd like to explore a bit with you. This is the first step. Would you be so kind as to take a moment and answer the following question?

Do you have a Nook, Kindle, or other e-book reader? Do you like it?

And for those of you who are dyed in the wool paper book fans (like me!), here's a site you might get a kick out of. Thanks to Sherry for providing the link. Too funny!

  1. I own a Kindle, and I love it. I still like to touch, hold and turn the pages of a book though.

  2. Reading novels on the Kindle app on my iPod is a surprisingly pleasant experience. Even pleasant enough for me to drop a few hints to my wife asking for a Kindle for Christmas.

Am I ready to ditch the musty smell of a dust covered favorite? Not in this life...

  3. I don't have an e-reader...yet. I'm actually asking for the Kindle for Christmas. I've played with my cousin's Nook before, and it really does read pretty much like a book. The screen looks like a real page.

  4. Hahaha! Okay, I just got done reading that link you provided, and I just have one questions: Seriously, is that for real? That is too funny.

  5. I don't have an e-reader. I haven't researched them to much to really know the benefits... i really enjoy holding a book, turning the page, seeing the cover...etc. Plus I tend to get my books from the library for the most part.

  6. I have a Kindle and I absolutely LOVE it!!! Never thought I would. But got one for my birthday. SO easy to get a book and not so much clutter in my home!

  7. I also own a kindle and am loving it. My favorite thing about it is that you can read a book in bed comfortably because it isn't big and bulky:) It's also wonderful for travel.

  8. I don't own one but I borrowed my friend's Nook for vacation and loved it. I was able to download books from my library to it and used it all the time. I still love reading paper books but it was so nice to have all of my books in one easy totally small book! :) Now I just need to save enough to buy one.

  10. I'm late to this party, but what else is new. I don't have one, but I wish I did (that mostly comes from really wanting to get my hangs on new books, in Laos). I don't even know for sure whether we can download here though, so I should check that out before I get one.
