Happy Monday! I'm in the process of creating the playlist for my next book. And this amazing song by Carolina Liar is the backbone. Thought you'd like to hear it. Hit play on the YouTube video, then scroll down to read the lyrics. It's a beautiful song. And it is, indeed, a beautiful world.
Here it comes in the morning
I’m just trying to forget
Keep it real, keep it simple
And somehow just get out of bed
And this city is endless
I’m as cold as it’s stone
Yeah this city is endless
And I’m, I’m walking alone
Sunlight creeps in between the curtains
Lose the sheets there’s no time for sleep
I lie, I pretend ‘til I’m almost certain
It’s a beautiful world
I wanna ask for direction
But I don’t dare to disturb
I got a thing with affections
Yeah, that’s why I’m walking alone
Sunlight creeps in between the curtains
Lose the sheets there’s no time for sleep
I lie, I pretend ‘til I’m almost certain
It’s a beautiful world
Here it comes in the morning…

Just bought After the Leaves Fall for my wife and I started reading it first (this morning about 12:30). I've only read a few pages so far - I am where the young girl is talking to the youth minister and he is having her ask him questions. My immediate impression of him: he is a cocky young minister who has the answers before he hears the questions. Am I on target? He has the pat solutions before he knows the problems. I'll read on to find out, but I have encountered ministers like that, and even pulled that myself a few times (I am a minister).
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to trash ministers! My husband is one. ;) But I'm not a fan of pat answers and I think that sometimes the church falls easily into that trap. We don't want to admit that we might not know everything about everything... Ministers aren't the only ones who do that, I'm afraid. I've done it, too. :(
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to drop by and let you know that I just finished your book The Moment Between today. I throughly enjoyed it!!! This is the first book I have read by you, but I have your other books coming my way. Thank you for writing such a thought provoking book. One that had me feeling connected to these characters in a way that I found myself thinking about them each time I closed the book until I picked it up again. It is so well written and it has quickly been added to my list of favorites. I love the story of lives being redeemed, forgiveness and most of all... grace. I am looking forward to the release of your next one!!!
